Kooper, Kole, Janika, and Morgan enjoy the Holiday's ! Whitney will never be to old for Santa!!

Christmas 2008 The Kemple's are all together!!

We were so blessed to have almost all of us together for Christmas we were missing three grandchildren and Kurtis's wife Melissa had to stay in Texas. We have so many we had to have the party in our basement it is unfinished except for the bathroom but we have a lot of our furniture that won't fit upstairs so it is cozy. Our family spends a lot of time together but Christmas time is so special because every one gets here all at the same time.Last year Kooper,Morgan and Malakai were tiny babies this year it was fun to see their reaction to Santa.Christmas day we were snowed in and trying to get out to go to my brother's home in Erda for dinner, we do that every year we broke our garage door trying to get out but we did get out and had a wonderful time with my brother and his family. Today we got the door fixed only $80.00. I have had it with snow remember I am from Dixie.

Joseph Smith's Birthday December 23,1805

Every year at this time I think of Joseph Smith and what his life has meant to me. I have spent a good share of my life on the study of Joseph and Emma Smith it has really helped me to understand more about what I believe in and has helped me to try and live a better life.

My sister Carolynn makes me a scarf for my birthday!!

Kurtis thought it would be fun to help Kole make a ginger bread house. I have never done this before. How hard could it be?? Well I don't know how many memories it will make for Kole but his grand father and I sure won't forget it we sure laughed a lot when the roof fell off and we had to do some major repairs. Kurtis said Mom I think we should have read the directions before we started. Kole had a good time putting all the candy on the house but I think he ate more than he put on.WE let him take it home to eat later. He was sure lots of fun to have him here for a couple of days. We will sure miss Kurtis now he has gone back to Texas.

Bratzeli cookies from Switzerland

My friend Bernadette is from Switzerland she made us these cookies for Christmas .My family comes from a small town in Switzerland and they joined the church and came with the Daniel D McAurthur hand cart Co. I love to visit with Bernadette and learn more about the Swiss people and the things they do at Christmas time.I would like to make these cookies but you have to have a special Bratzeli iron you put the dough in and it makes four at a time. The cookies are very thin and break very easy. At Swiss days they sell a lot of these special cookies!!

Thanksgiving In Huntington!!

We spent Thanksgiving with our son John and his wife Marlo and grand kids Kennedy,Kraymer and McKoy. We had a wonderful dinner at Marlo's sisters house the food was the best and every one was so nice to us the Wood and Fox family's have always be some of our favorite people. After dinner the women all made a craft to take home it was so much fun. The men all took a hike around the farm to look for elk and wild turkeys. The next day we went to Woodside a ghost town. John works for the railroad and every time we go down he takes us to a ghost town.Woodside had a train depot and a zinc mine also stores and a salon. No one lives there anymore. We found the old grave yard and looked around. John then showed us where Butch Cassidy used to hide away from the law.I can hardly wait to see where our next trip will be.
